Hike Route
I am a member of the Sierra Foothill Conservancy and last
Saturday had an opportunity to hike to the top of the McKenzie Table, which
overlooks a portion of both Millerton Lake and the San Joaquin River. These “tables”
are capped with lava while the ground around them was worn away by the flow of
the San Joaquin River. I hiked with friends and fellow members Mike and Marie
Gilbert. The hike was around 6 miles on a marked trail with about 1,000’ of
gain outbound. Afterwards we were treated to a wonderful lunch.
